Zack Burgess has earned the prestigious Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) designation, placing him among the top 5% of auctioneers nationwide.

A Milestone of Professional Excellence

We are proud to announce that Zack Burgess, founder and principal auctioneer of Burgess Auctions, has successfully completed the prestigious Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) designation program. This achievement represents the pinnacle of professional education in the auction industry and demonstrates our continued commitment to providing exceptional service to our clients throughout Central Indiana.

The CAI designation is recognized worldwide as the auction profession's highest credential.

What is the CAI Designation?

The Certified Auctioneers Institute is widely recognized as the auction profession's most respected educational program. Administered by the National Auctioneers Association and held at Indiana University, this rigorous three-year executive development program covers:

  • Advanced auction techniques and technologies
  • Strategic business management
  • Ethics and professional standards
  • Innovative marketing approaches
  • Financial analysis and risk management
  • Leadership development

Less than 5% of auctioneers nationwide hold this distinguished credential, placing Zack among an elite group of auction professionals dedicated to the highest standards of excellence.

A Journey of Professional Growth

The path to CAI certification requires significant dedication and investment. Over three years, Zack attended intensive week-long sessions at Indiana University, completed numerous projects between sessions, and demonstrated mastery of advanced auction concepts and methodologies.

Zack joins an elite group of auction professionals in the 2025 CAI graduating class at Indiana University.

This latest achievement adds to Zack's already impressive credentials, which include the Accredited Manager of Machinery & Equipment (AMM) designation and graduation from Reppert School of Auctioneering. Zack is also an active member of several prestigious industry organizations, including the National Auctioneers Association, the Indiana Auctioneers Association, and the Marknet Alliance.

Zack's auction career began with his education at the respected Reppert School of Auctioneering in Decatur, Indiana.

Throughout his career, he has pursued excellence through countless educational opportunities, seminars, and professional development programs, continuously honing his skills to better serve the Central Indiana community.

"The CAI program has been transformative both personally and professionally," shares Zack. "Working alongside the industry's brightest minds while diving deep into every aspect of running a successful auction business has given me invaluable insights and tools that will directly benefit our clients."
